Solar Flares: Image Processing

Scientific paper

A bidimensional spectral data acquisition system has been recently established and operated successfully in the Solar Tower of Nanjing University. The automatic scan system makes the solar image moving perpendicularly over the entrance slit of the spectrograph while the observation is being done. Two CCD cameras, which are positioned at Hα and Ca II K wavebands of solar spectra, receive spectral signals. Electronic signals from CCD cameras are amplified and digitized to 8 bit data by the image processor. The microcomputer is used for data acquisition, data storing and scan controlling. So the digitized bidimensional solar spectra in the Hα and Ca II K wavebands can be obtained automatically and simultaneously.
