The standard Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) cosmological model is modified by an initial global rotation while retaining a diagonal metric form. This rotation will generate a non-uniform global curvature that will dissipate in the lim t → ∞ yielding perfect spherical symmetry. Unlike previous rotating models of the universe, this research focuses on the curvature effects of rotation rather than the actual rotation itself. Hence, the global angular velocity ω is replaced with an oblation factor ɛ that is only a function of time. An analytical solution to the Einstein field equations satisfying the weak energy condition for a closed universe with an imperfect relativistic fluid is being sought. A comparison with classical FRW predictions of spectral red shift, Hubble's expansion law, the apparent age and size of the universe, and the flatness and horizon problems will be examined.
