During a search at 1415 MHz near the galactic center 123 sources have been detected, 14 of which are identified with optically known planetary nebulae, mostly at the distance of the galactic center. Out of the 109 remaining sources we predict that probably 85 are extragalactic background sources. The remaining 24 sources we interpret as a collection of optically invisible planetary nebulae and compact H II regions. The number of sources per unit area increases towards the galactic center. If interpreted as planetary nebulae the distribution is roughly what one expects from other information on the galactic center.
