Scientific paper

The design of a laser diode objective composed of a Schwarzschild
reflecting objective and a two element refracting cylindrical telescope
is described. Good wavefront quality is obtained over a large spectral
bandwidth (with refocusing). Some amount of oblateness of the output is
a consequence of the tilted reflecting elements.
