On September 22, 2001 NASA's Deep Space One spacecraft flew by the Comet Borrelly at a distance of 2200 km. The spacecraft instrument package included a Miniature Integrated Camera Spectrometer (MICAS), a Plasma Experiment for Planetary Exploration (PEPE), and numerous diagnostistic instruments, intended to monitor the status of ion drive which propelled the spacecraft (IDS). All the instruments returned high quality science data on the Comet. This session will present the first results from the fyby to the scientific community.
