We present mid-IR photometry of a sample of disk and magnetic CVs, from the Spitzer Space Telescope. Upon combining our observations with 2MASS data, the mid-IR SED of each subcategory suggests the presence of additional components in the systems, other than the two stars and the accretion disks/accretion columns. We explore the relationship between the observed mid-IR excess and the orbital period and mass transfer rate of the systems, discussing a connection with their evolutionary state and the standard CV evolution scenario.
