High resolution infrared imaging and spectroscopy have given in the past five years very valuable new information on the properties and dynamics of the central star cluster of the Milky Way. A review is given what these observations tell us about character and evolution of the cluster, and in particular about the stellar dynamics. It is shown that the measured stellar radial and proper motions make a very strong case for a two million solar mass central black hole associated with the compact radio source SgrA*.
