Observational evidencies of critical ionization velocity phenomenon provided by measurements in the Io plasma torus and in the comae of Halley's comet are discussed on the basis of the theory of this phenomenon. The consequences of possible development of these phenomena for the line emission from supernovae shells and plasma jets from active galaxy nuclei are considered. The main effect here is produced by suprathermal electrons generated in this process.
