Coude Spectrographs

Scientific paper

The paper reports on the coudé-CCD spectrograph system on the 1-m telescope of the Yunnan Observatory and the observations of high dispersion spectra of stars, the optical layout, and the mechanical adjustment installation of this system. The selection and the calculation for some important parameters are presented. The test runs of this system have been carried out and good spectra have been obtained in the wavelength range from 3300 to 11000 Å since November, 1987. The observations of the Ca II K line of α Boo, solar Mg I 5176.327, 5172.698 and 5183.619 lines and solar He I 10830 lines obtained during the past year with the system are given. The observed results show that the efficiency of the system is 1.5 to 3 magnitudes in comparison with the photographic emulsion of Kodak IIaO of 103a-f.
