The Naval Research Laboratory, George Mason University, and the Royal Observatory, Edinburgh have produced the COSMOS/UKST Optical Catalog. This catalog contains more than 500 million classified and calibrated optical objects in the southern sky. This catalog has been used to support optical identification of the ROSAT all-sky survey and the IRAS Faint Source Survey, along with special studies in a variety of other areas. We have developed a database system which allows efficient queries of this data set. We are in the process of expanding this system to incorporate data from the ROE SuperCOSMOS plate scanner and other data sets. Queries into this catalog are now possible through the World-Wide-Web.
