We calculate the LISA gravitational wave signal arising from the population of close white dwarf binaries in the Galactic halo, and compare our results to the signal arising from double white dwarfs in the Galactic disc. We find that even if the current white dwarf mass fraction in the halo is 100% of the baryonic halo mass, the gravitational wave signal from halo double white dwarfs detectable with LISA will be below the confusion foreground arising from double white dwarfs in the Galactic disc.
