Observations of the structure of the complex radio galaxy 4C 47.51 (1919+479) at 21 cm are presented. The source was observed for a 12-h period by 13 available telescopes of the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope along a 1.3-km east-west line. The total intensity map derived from the data reveals a very unusual radio structure, with a diffuse region abruptly cut off at one end and connected to the optical galaxy by a jet or tail with two sharp bends comprising an eastern lobe, and a bright component with tail making up a western lobe. Observations confirm the presence of two of the three components detected by the NRAO interferometer. Distance estimates imply a projected extent of both lobes of 700 kpc, making 1919+479 one of the largest known cluster sources, with a total luminosity at 1.4 GHz of 1.6 x 10 to the 24th W/Hz per ster. The source also appears to be the dominant member of a possibly rich cluster of galaxies.
