The Plasmag experiment, launched on Prognoz-7, was designed for the study of the solar wind plasma and the earth's magnetosphere. In particular, the experiment is intended to study the ion and electron components of the solar wind plasma and the magnitude of the interplanetary magnetic field in quiet and disturbed conditions, as well as the interaction of the solar wind and the magnetosphere. The details of the experiment are described, and some measurement results are presented.
