Modern science requires collaboration and community. Not surprisingly, journalists and bloggers are learning that their success depends on community too. To reach the widest possible audience for your news, you want to build up an organic network of friends and partners who will help multiply the volume of what you have to say. In this talk, I'll present my experience in reaching out to the community of space/astronomy bloggers, though personal correspondence, attending conferences, and helping to organize the Carnival of Space. I'll also talk about the impact it's had on the readership of my blog, Universe Today.
