The color magnitude diagram for stars in the central part of M 15 is obtained from data available in the literature. It is then compared with the color magnitude diagram obtained by Sandage et al. (1968) for the external part of the cluster. The radial variations of the projected density of red giants and horizontal branch stars are analyzed. It is noted that these variations provide an explanation for the observed radial color variations in M 15 and a basis for the investigation of the radial distribution of stars of different masses in globular clusters.
