Calculations are made of the complex coefficient of radio-wave reflection from regular ionospheric profiles containing the main features of sporadic E layers. This approach makes it possible to determine such reflection characteristics as the wide range of semitransparence and the nonmonotonic character of the frequency dependence of the reflection coefficient modulus, observed during the radio sounding of the ionosphere.
