It is explicitely shown that the geometry of a closed world which satisfies the classical Einstein equations can be presented as a field configuration on a topologically trivial and geometrically flat {space-time} background. The total energy, momentum and angular momentum of the configuration are equal to zero. The possible connection of this approach with the problem of the quantum {birth} of the Universe is discussed.
