Time resolved high resolution spectroscopy and near infrared photometry of the magnetic Chemically Peculiar star HD221006 are presented. From high resolution spectroscopy in the 482-513nm region the effective temperature, gravity (by matching the Hbeta_ line profile) and abundances of some elements are estimated. Adopting the period of the uvby light variations P=2.31483 by Mathys & Manfroid (1985), we show that light variations with the same period are present up to 2.2μ. Since the observed equivalent width variations of silicon, chromium, and iron lines are in phase with the near infrared variations, the enhanced ultraviolet line blocking could be the origin of a flux redistribution towards the longest wavelengths.
