Neutro-activation analysis was used to study the chemical composition of a regolith column returned to earth by Luna-24. The samples taken at the 97, 161, 175, and 183 cm levels of the column consisted of nonfractionated medium-grained gray regolith. The vertical distribution of the elements is found to be practically uniform throughout the column. The chemical composition is characteristic of mare soil.
