The carbon and oxygen isotopic composition of the Trenton limestone was
systematically altered by metamorphism associated with the emplacement
of the Mount Royal pluton. Values approach those thought to be
characteristic of carbonatites and suggest that the isotopic composition
of carbonatites is of limited diagnostic value.
