New data on the geometric albedo of Uranus at 0.5-0.9 microns were analyzed and interpreted within the framework of a model with a semiinfinite scattering-absorbing cloud layer and an above-cloud atmosphere with Rayleigh scattering. The values for the cloud-layer volume density, equivalent width of the atmosphere above the clouds, and relative abundance of methane in the troposphere were varied. The present results suggest that the upper limit to the CH4 relative abundance in the Uranus atmosphere does not exceed 0.01.
