Using the method that is different from those introduced by Palmore, Hagihara and MacMillan, the equations of central configurations (CC) of the general four-body problem are obtained. On this basis, the possibility of solving the problem of whether the number of CC of the general four-body problem is finite is pointed out. A computer is used to show all the CCs for some mass sets and changes of the CC with the mass.
