The Camegie Supernova Project (CSP) was established in 2004 with two major goals: 1) to create a completely new data set of optical/near-infrared light curves in a well-understood photometric system for ~200 nearby (z<0.07) Type Ia and Type II supernovae, and 2) to provide an independent estimate of the Dark Energy contribution to the total energy content of the Universe via an I-band Hubble diagram of Type Ia supernovae from z~0.01-0.7. In this paper, the current status of the project is summarized, and examples are illustrated of the data being collected.
