Close Binaries: Periods, Close Binaries: Rotation

The critical synchronization parameters and the critical equatorial rotational periods for 93 components of three typical close binaries are calculated on the basis of the critical synchronization theory of close binary stars. The numerical values for the critical rotational periods given by the synchronization theory are compared with those given by the theory of rotational stability of gaseous stars. The author shows that both are quantities of the same order.
