We discuss the build-up of the red sequence of galaxies since z=1.3 as a function of environment. We find that (1) the red sequence first appears at bright magnitudes and extends to fainter magnitudes with time, and (2) this build-up is 'delayed' in low-density regions. We suggest that galaxy-galaxy interactions may be the primary driver of the build-up of the red sequence.
