We consider the results of the spectral analysis of BeppoSAX spectra taken during the decay phase of the 1999 outburst of the black-hole transient XTE J1550-564. A detailed modeling of the spectrum is presented, as well as a comparison with nearly simultaneous RXTE spectra. The physical interpretation of the different spectral shapes adopted is discussed in the framework of current theoretical models for accretion onto black holes.
