We present the results of two studies of high redshift (z 1) galaxies observed in the Hubble Ultra Deep Field observed with the Hubble Space Telescope. Using archival data from the GRism ACS Program for Extragalactic Science (GRAPES) and existing broadband data, we determine spectrophotometric redshifts for 1308 galaxies to i'<27.2 AB mag. From these redshifts, we derive the B-band luminosity function from -24With this catalog redshift catalog, we compute the fraction and number density of major mergers from close pair statistics for 0.5This work was funded in part by NASA grant HST-GO-10974.01-A from STScI, which is operated by AURA under NASA contract NAS 5-26555 and NASA JWST grant NAG 5-12460.
