The azimuthal mounting developed by the Carl Zeiss Establishment in
Oberkochen, West Germany, for a large telescope, in 1974-1976, revealed
the presence of certain problems that were difficult to resolve by
mechanical means. The solutions obtained by means of modern electronics
are noted in the presented paper.
