Data from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) have the sensitivity and resolution to provide information about the angular power spectrum of the cosmic microwave background on arcminute scales (out to l 8000). Characterizing the CMB on small scales is a challenging task as the power spectrum of the CMB falls steeply at l > 1000 and is dominated by point sources on small scales. Incomplete sky coverage and holes in the point source masks, if not handled properly, cause unnecessarily large uncertainties in the measured power spectrum as large scale power is aliased to smaller scales. We will present our novel approach to the problem which we exploit in analyzing ACT maps. These methods are generally applicable to the analysis of high resolution CMB maps and any other map with very red power spectra.
