Arc minute scale millimeter data from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) have the sensitivity and resolution to provide new insights into galaxy clusters through the Sunyaev-Zel'dovich (SZ) effect as well as new information on flat spectrum radio sources and submillimeter galaxies through emission. In this talk, we present SZ clusters and extragalactic sources detected at high significance in ACT data. We compare the detected numbers and Y-parameters of the SZ clusters to expectations from cosmological simulations with sigma8 = 0.8. Finally, we characterize the source population through number counts and spectral indices.
