The efficiency of using the mathematical formalism of irreducible tensors in celestial mechanics problems was shown. The method is exemplified by the transformation of the force function to osculating variables and by the derivation of the averaged equations in the problems of the satellite's motion in the gravitational field of a spherical planet, in the three-body problem, and in the problems of the satellite's motion relative to the center of mass in the Earth's gravitational and magnetic fields.
