The data base on anomalous redshifts observed for mixed pairs of galaxies, both spiral and nonspiral, is examined to determine if the effect is real. The galaxies in the Catalog of Isolated Pairs of Galaxies are included because of visual proximity, relatively equal magnitudes, and similar diameters. However, the data can be questioned due to their optical nature, the magnitude of the standard errors in the data, and the uncertain morphologies of the galaxies. Velocity differences of up to 600 km/sec have been observed between isolated pairs. A total of 23 pairs is examined statistically in terms of the differences in radial velocities. It is found that the anomalous redshift is statistically a significant factor for galaxies that have radial velocities that differ by 140-150 km/sec. It is suggested that these galaxies are interacting.
