The possibility is considered that the jet streams observed in cluster galaxies and in quasars may be the result of interactions of the galaxy (or quasar) and the galactic nucleus with intracluster gas. The jet streams associated with the galaxy NGC 6251 are discussed in terms of an accretion wake model, and the geometry of an accretion column is analyzed. The energy store in an accretion column is examined, possible effects of nuclear jets are investigated, and the density and magnetic field of a galactic jet are estimated. It is noted that the accretion wake model of galactic and quasar jets always yields one-sided jets.
