The abundance ratio C/O in the atmospheres of 89 faint carbon stars are detected on the basis of spectra obtained on 2.6 m telescope of Byurakan AO. The frequency distribution of C/O in the Perseus galactic arm differs from that in the Orion arm. The conclusion is made that the reason of the difference may be the heavy element abundance differences in these galactic arms.
