At the beginning of 2011 Cygnus X-3 made a transition from a quiescent state into a flaring state. During this period of activity Cygnus X-3 entered an extended ( 33 days) quenched state which was followed by 18 Jy radio flare (7.7 GHz). The major radio flare decayed over the next 30 days as Cygnus X-3 returned to a quiescent state. Throughout this period of activity an extensive set of pointed X-ray observations were made with Swift and RXTE. In addition supporting observations were made with MAXI (X-ray) , AMI-LA (radio), RATAN-600 (radio), Metsahovi (radio), Pairitel (near IR), Fermi (gamma-ray), AGILE (gamma-ray), and VERITAS (TeV). We will discuss the results of this campaign and what the multi-wavelength monitoring of this source has revealed.
