Results of recent calculations of spectral line strengths of atomic nitrogen (NI) are compared with arc emission measurements. We focused our attention on some selected infrared transitions, which play an important role in the analysis of astrophysical spectra. Our measured line strength data are in very good agreement with the recent Breit-Pauli results of Tachiev and Froese Fischer.
