Chandra Interactive Analysis of Observations (CIAO) is a software system developed for analysis of Chandra X-ray Observatory observations. An important step for each CIAO release is testing of the scientific and functional performance of the software. In this paper, we describe the stages of CIAO testing and the procedures we follow at each stage before each software release.
