Magnetotelluric measurements conducted continuously at Eusebio (3.870 S, 321.58 deg E) during the period 1979 to 1980 are used for electromagnetic induction studies. It is shown that the Sq diurnal variation in the region of equatorial electrojet does not have the internal component of induction. The analysis of Eusebio data demonstrated that the diurnal variation in the equatorial electrojet region consists of both internal and external components. These results are presented and discussed.
