TNB1 GPS permanent station had been installed in 1998 during the activities of the XIII Italian expedition in Antarctica in the surrounding of the Italian Station of Terra Nova Bay. The dual frequency GPS receiver (Ashtech Z-XII3 series) has being continuously acquired data which are stored in a unit through a daily ftp connection ever since. Up to now, data collected in the same time frame of the VLNDEF (Victoria Land Network for DEFormation control) epoch-wise campaigns have been fully processed. A subset of TNB1 data have also been requested by the scientific community in the frame of the SCAR GPS epoch campaign and in the realisation of the new International Terrestrial Reference Frame year 2000. Long time series of data, as the TNB1 are, allow the definition of regional vertical displacements, a fundamental parameter that plays an important role in global glacial rebound effect evaluation and in the validation of ocean loading models in the region. A test period has been selected and some analysis are being performed. Different strategies are being applied in order to fix the better approach with which all the entire data set will be analysed. The GPS data are being analysed by means of the scientific Bernese GPS software Version 4.2. Data of 7 Antarctic IGS (International GPS Service for Geodynamics) permanent stations are being used together with TNB1 in order to strength the results within the ITRF97 reference frame. Results, integration with data from other GPS permanent stations and a first attempt in the evaluation of the regional displacement will be discussed.
