Data obtained during more than 30,000 flights of balloon-borne cosmic-ray radiosondes since 1975 are used to investigate the intensity distribution of atmospheric cosmic rays. Some interesting aspects of the latitudinal distribution of atmospheric cosmic rays are discussed. In particular, the existence of a variable Arctic-Antarctic asymmetry in primary-cosmic-ray intensity is demonstrated. It is shown the Arctic-Antarctic anisotropy effects with an amplitude of 5% to 10% in the lower atmosphere and 1% to 2% in the stratosphere recur approximately every two, four, and ten years. Possible causes of the observed effects are considered.
