Clusters Of Galaxies, Intracluster Matter, Temperature Distribution
Scientific paper
ASCA satellite provided first comprehensive spatially resolved spectroscopy in 0.5 - 10 keV band, and its capability enabled us to look into detailed structure in the plasma temperature distribution in clusters of galaxies. The origins of the temperature structure are thought to be a cluster merger, and collapse of a dark halo. They give us important clues to know when clusters were formed and how those were evolved. Here, we present the results of the temperature distributions of the clusters derived with ASCA, especially in two nearby rich clusters, the Coma and the Virgo clusters.
