Scientific paper
Efforts to collect qualitative video coverage on specific aerospace and astronomical occurrences from remote sites and under low light levels using inexpensive hardware are described. The electrooptic video hardware and some past applications are described, including the study of the Space Shuttle External Tank reentry, retrieval of Shuttle payloads, the observation of fragments of the NOAA 8 satellite, the reentry of the Space Shuttle Discovery, the positioning of GEO satellites, solar eclipses, and occultations.
