Web-based telescopes can be effectively used as a tool in the astronomy laboratory or in independent study programs to teach astronomical concepts. We have demonstrated that they improve both instructor ratings and student learning of basic astronomical concepts. We have used the URSA WebScope at the University of Arkansas for over 7 years with typically 500 student users per year. We have used the larger NFO WebScope for advanced undergraduate and graduate student projects for over 2 years. Results of our experiences will be presented.
