Reports details of a probable variable star discovered by Collins on 1998 October 12 located at RA 02h18m21s, Dec +50°46'03″(2000). The object was detected on photographs for the UK Nova/Supernova Patrol. On 1988 September 20 it was at magnitude 10.5 but at 11.4 on 1989 December 26. The star is not in the Guide Star Catalogue. A finding chart and sequence to magnitude 12.1 are provided.
