Several d,n reaction reactions using pulsed deuteron beams have been
investigated for possible pulsed 'white neutron' sources for use in a
Fast Neutron Spectrometer to be used in an airport security system. It
was found that a 5 to 6.6 MeV pulsed deuteron beam incident on a thick
Beryllium target generates a good 'white neutron' source.
