I will review recent results obtained from long-term monitoring campaigns of accreting T Tauri stars. The analysis of photometric and spectroscopic variability over timescales ranging from hours to years yield clear evidence for time-dependent magnetically-channelled accretion onto the stars. I will compare these observational results with the predictions of current models of magnetospheric accretion/ejection processes in young stars.
