Observations of T Tauri stars are reviewed. Among the topics discussed are evidence for the presence of circumstellar matter and complex in- and outflows, the irregular and quasi-periodic light variations found at various wavelength bands, and polarimetric properties and constraints on the geometry of the circumstellar material. Other topics include the properties of T Tauri binary systems, the winds, collimated outflows, jets from T Tauri stars and their interaction with the ambient interstellar medium, and observational evidence for disks around these objects.
