Several improvements in the thermophysical model by Gutiérrez et al (2000) have been developed to specifically deal with fully irregular cometary nuclei. Also, the new code allows for the inclusion of active regions, regions with different albedo and regions of different emissivity. The model has been applied to ensembles of irregular bodies, the so-called ``gaussian random shapes". Some preliminary results are presented. Gutiérrez, P.J., J.L. Ortiz, R. Rodrigo, J.J.
