Scientific paper

Papers are presented concerning observations and theoretical explanations of cosmic gamma-ray bursts. Specific topics include the time histories of gamma-ray bursts, an algorithm for burst localization using three satellites, gamma-burst observations made by the Pioneer Venus Orbiter, results of the Franco-Soviet SIGNE gamma-burst experiments and theories of gamma-ray burst sources. Attention is also given to a search for radio pulses associated with gamma-ray bursts, multi-spacecraft observations of solar hard X-ray bursts, synchrotron cooling and electron-positron plasma annihilation as a mechanism for the transient of March 5, 1979, and the periodicities of gamma-ray bursts.
