The Swing amplification of spiral waves in flat self-gravitating disks is considered in the limit of weak self-gravity (or low temperature). An analytic expression is derived for the amplification coefficient, related to the thin disk geometry and to the gravitational wakefield effect. Numerical solution gives the connection between this and the hydrodynamical instability of a disk without self-gravity.
